The concept of a dollar changed greatly over the years. There was a time that it meant so much to people. However, this does not hold the same today. Now, a single bill can seem so small at times.

Now, you old folks
Don’t be afraid to spend
A dollar
A buck is not what it used
To be

A dollar sounds like a lot of money
To you
A cup of coffee was 5 cents
A long time ago

But not now
You won’t work so cheap
Now
If you work at all

The younger people need
You to turn over that money
And not wait
Until you die

Loosen those purse strings
Enjoy what you saved
You can’t take it
To the grave
